The Real Story
Look, I'm not gonna feed you some polished marketing speak about "visionary design" or "cutting-edge innovation." That's not how this works.
I started this practice back in 2012 after spending way too many years at big firms where everything felt... sterile. Like we were designing for magazine covers instead of actual human beings who'd be making coffee in these kitchens at 6 AM or trying to get natural light for their home office.
The thing that drives me nuts about architecture? We've got this planet that's literally screaming at us, and we're still throwing up buildings like resources are infinite. That's just dumb. And lazy.
So yeah, sustainability isn't some add-on service we tack on for extra fees - it's baked into everything we do. Because honestly, what's the point of designing beautiful spaces if they're contributing to making the world worse?
What We Actually Believe
Buildings should work WITH people, not against them. I've seen too many gorgeous designs that are absolute nightmares to live in.
Green building shouldn't cost an arm and a leg. Sometimes it's just about being smarter with orientation and materials.
Heritage restoration matters more than tearing down and starting fresh most of the time. There's character in old bones.
Commercial spaces can actually feel welcoming. Revolutionary, I know.
The Journey So Far
2012 - The Beginning
Left corporate architecture to start something that actually meant something. Started in a shared office space with one drafting table and too much coffee.
2014 - First Big Break
Landed a heritage restoration project on King Street. Nearly killed me with stress but we nailed it. Building's still standing and the owners actually thank me when they see me.
2016 - LEED Accreditation
Got serious about green building certification. Turned out clients were actually looking for this stuff - who knew sustainable could also mean profitable?
2019 - Team Expansion
Moved to the Queen Street West office and brought on five incredible designers who get it. Not just pretty drawings - functional, sustainable, human-centered work.
2021 - Pandemic Pivot
COVID changed everything. Suddenly everyone needed home offices and outdoor spaces that worked. We adapted fast, focused on what people actually needed instead of what looked good on Instagram.
2024 - Where We're At
140+ projects completed, a team of 12, and still learning something new with every build. Still mad about wasteful design. Still obsessed with making spaces that work.

The Team Vibe
We're not the biggest firm in Toronto. Not even close. But we've got something the big guys don't - we actually care about every single project.
Our team's a mix of experienced architects who've seen it all and younger designers who bring fresh perspectives. Sometimes we disagree - loudly - but that's how you get better solutions.
Everyone here's got skin in the game. When a project succeeds, we celebrate together. When something doesn't work out as planned, we figure it out together. That's just how it is.
What Clients Say (The Unedited Version)
"Jade told us our initial ideas were kinda impractical. Wasn't what we wanted to hear, but she was right. The final design's way better and we actually use every room now."
- Rebecca M., Residential Client
"They saved us money by suggesting we restore instead of rebuild. Didn't expect that from an architect. Thought they'd want the bigger project."
- David K., Commercial Property Owner
"The whole process felt collaborative, not like we were just being told what to do. They listened, even when our ideas were probably pretty amateur."
- Maria L., Home Renovation
"Our building's energy costs dropped by 40%. Didn't think green building would pay off this fast but here we are."
- James T., Office Building Client

Why Sustainability Isn't Optional
I'll be straight with you - I get frustrated when people treat green building like it's some luxury add-on. It's 2024. Climate change isn't a debate topic anymore.
Every building decision we make has consequences. The materials we choose, how we orient the structure, what systems we install - it all matters. And ignoring that? That's just being irresponsible.
But here's the good news: sustainable design usually saves money in the long run. Better insulation means lower heating bills. Smart window placement means less AC usage. Using reclaimed materials often costs less than new.
So yeah, we're kinda obsessed with this stuff. Not because it's trendy, but because it's the only way that makes sense anymore.
